(1st March)philbet@ntlworld.com | I attended KSSS from 1954-57 - the 'Rock and Roll' years. Classmates I remember include Katie Campbell, Sandra Currie, Dot Anderson, Ged Carlow, Jim Humphreys, Sheila Livingston, etc. It would be great to hear from anyone. I also recall Pat Adie and Ellen Burns who I sat beside for my exams and 1957 Football 2nd XI. Fondest regards and good health to all FP's. |
(3rd March)bryan@antaigh.fsnet.co.uk | Hello Knightswegians ( or is it Knightswoodians?). I have recently had a book published titled "Bankhead -The Story of a Primary School at War" and have now sold just over 500 copies(Profits go to the school)--but that's not the point!! I am now collecting material for a second book with the working title of "Children of Knightswood" (all profits go to ME ME ME.) There is something of an imbalance at the moment since a lot of my stories and anecdotes from childhood have come mainly from my old school pals who all went to Victoria Drive (1951/2). Is there any ex-Knightswood School pupils who have stuff regarding youth organisations, street games, "expeditions", mischief of a fairly innocent type, etc.? A chapter will be devoted to people nurtured in Knightswood who became famous or became puplic figures of note. (Don't need to be THAT famous) I already have notes on some weel kent people who went to Bankhead and Victoria Drive but I need a greater spread. So come on Knightswood High School (or really Knightswood Senior Secondary). How about some famous ex-pupils who attended your school during the '30s/'40s/'50s. Bryan Cromwell |
(Campbell) (11th March)jcbrewer@shaw.ca | I'd love to hear from some other FP's. Also Dianne Cameron is here in my town she also went to Knightswood at the same time as me, same class, same birthday. There was also some gals with the exact same birthday as we two....May 23rd. We would love to hear from them also. Looking forward to hearing from anyone. Janice (Jan) |

(Wright) (24th April)laura.wright@edwardjones.com | Hi everyone! Just stumbled across this website. I was at Knightswood Secondary from 1988 - 1994. I've since moved from the area and now live in London, but would love to hear from anyone in my year from school! Hope you are happy and well and look forward to hearing from you. Those who were in my year will surely remember my favourite teacher of all time Anne Rybarczyyk? Does anyone know how I could get in contact with her? I'd love to catch up with her. All the best, Laura x |
(Lamb) (9th May)laurasweeney@rowan1.fsnet.co.uk | If anyone remembers my Mum, Pamela Lamb, I'd be pleased if they could get in contact with me. Thanks Laura Sweeney. |
(Gorlach/Bradshaw) (16th June)mhcrane@cox.net | I was a Librarian along with Helen Missett and Christine Saunders. If they, or anyone who remembers me from school would like to write, feel free. I'd love to hear from any of you. I was in Mr Young's art class. Heather |
(Nixon) (23rd July)lyderem@iprimus.com.au | I attended KSS from 1979-84. I had a really great group of friends, but since leaving the UK nine years ago to live in Australia (Adelaide), I have lost touch. I would love to hear from anyone who knows me or Sharon Lamb, Sharon Flynn, Gary Sutherland, Martin Little, Valerie Blackstock, John Nimmo, to name but a few. Looking forward to hearing from...........Lynn |
(23rd July)alron@eastlink.ca | I attended KSS from 1946-51. Before that I attended Cloberhill for a year. I am now trying to locate old school mates, Jim Walker of Baldwin Avenue, Ian Anderson, Joe Nummy, Bert McCluskey and Clem Perks. |
(Hosie) (24th July)qannieuk@aol.com | I started my school life at Cloberhill Primary in 1954, and friends I remember from there are Lillian McEwan, Lillius McIness, Jim Lamb, The Hill Twins and Iain McSween. I then moved to 'the big school' Knightswood Senior Secondary in 1960. On the whole school was a wonderful experience although I have some good and not-so-good memories; a learning curve which was temptation filled. I remember Miss MacIndoe, Science Teacher, Mrs McNab, Mr Wilkie, Art Teacher and Miss MacAlpine, PE Teacher. If there is anyone out there who remembers me I would be pleased to hear from them. Ann |
(27th July)alanmagill@aol.com | I attended KSS from 1971-76 having come up from Knightswood Primary. During my time at KSS, my main friends were Alistair Govan, Ralph Palmer and Tom Cross all who lived in Blairdardie. Kept in touch with Alistair till 1986 when we lost contact - he moved to Oxford area and got married. Amongst the teachers I remember was my 1st year Maths teacher Mr Mukhergee. In a chat with my son when he moved up to high school last year in Cumbernauld - guess who his Maths teacher is - the very same gent. If you remember me or my twin sister Lynn why not email me. (nee Clubb) (2nd November)andy.clarkson@phonecoop.coop | I attended KSSS between 1971-76. Looking out for any 'music room gang' 1972-76. Anyone out there? Anyone remember me with my cello? The odd 'blast from the past' adds variety. Hope to hear from someone, Andy |
